Student Mission Design Projects
Since 1997, in parallel to the MS thesis, each year the students graduating in Aerospace Engineering must complete a preliminary mission design, in a regular course offered by the Department. Each year three different missions are analyzed by small groups of students under the supervision of the Department staff, and present a preliminary design report. Design tools adopted in the course include or have included, among others, Matlab and STK. This experience is fundamental to understand the requirements and goals of preliminary design tools, and the interface requirements between different design tools.
