Parabolic Flights

 

Since 1994, experiments proposed by students of the Department have flown in the students parabolic flight campaigns organized by the European Space Agency (ESA).

• 1994: active vibration damping of a small flexible structure using proof mass actuator;

• 1995: control of the oscillations of a tethered satellite;

• 1995: orbit simulator;

• 2000: study on free and forced convection in microgravity;
• 2001: flexible robotic arm control;

• 2003: intermetallics self-propagating synthesis.
