RAE2822 steady flow

Steady flow around a RAE 2822 airfoil.

Computations of the transonic steady flow around the RAE 2822 airfoil are shown. The free flow has a Mach number of 0.75 and an angle of attack of 1 degrees. The contour lines for the pressure coefficient and the entropy variation are shown in Figure 1, 2 and 3. Three different grids are adopted: a coarse one with 2798 nodes and 5429 elements, a medium one with 10820 nodes and 21306 elements and a fine with 42464 nodes and 84260 elements.

In Figure 5 is shown the L2 Norm of the residual as a function of the computational time for three different linear system solvers: SGS, GMRES (Sparsekit) and LU factorization (UMFPACK). And the L2 Norm of the residual as a function of the non-linear iterations for different grids.
